Dr. Drake has been in full time private practice since 1991 and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at Georgetown University’s School of Medicine in the department of Psychiatry for many years. She is also a Teaching Analyst at the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis and has taught (part-time) at The George Washington University School of Professional Psychology. She is active in professional organizations and continuing education in order to stay up-to-date on current research in psychology, psychotherapy, and Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Drake completed her graduate training at The George Washington University, Catholic University, and The Baltimore Washington Institute for Psychoanalysis. She has served as a consultant to community mental health agencies and media and has published in professional peer-reviewed journals and presented papers nationally at professional conferences.
Dr. Drake served as President of the Baltimore Washington Society for Psychoanalysis and on the Board of Directors of The Greater Washington Society for Clinical Social Work and the China American Psychoanalytic Association. She is a member of the D.C. Advisory Council for Mental Health. She is licensed in Virginia.
